CARTERSVILLE, Georgia — In speaking about railroad history, I often talk about communities’ love-hate relationship with railroads.

In some ways, railroads are like the news. Both are integral to our lives.

When we want our online purchases to show up on our doorstep in 48 hours, railroads are often integral to making that happen.

When we want to make informed decisions, we need accurate information. The news — and the free flow of information — can help with that.
